About the project :

We all know and have read about the disastrous drought that Maharashtra faced this year, it's worst drought in over 100 years. The drought crippled over 29000 villages, affected over 90 lakh farmers out of which 1548 committed suicide in the past 16 months.

Can we prevent a drought from occurring in the future? Tough, since we cannot control rainfall. But can we prepare for a similar situation if it occurs again? Yes! By empowering our villages and farmers by teaching them to implement rainwater harvesting, constructing trenches and wells, watershed management, bore recharge and many other techniques by which they become self-sustainable.

I have started a campaign called 'Paani' in this direction. The song 'Paani' and its video serves to remind us all of the drastic consequences of a drought. I request you to please watch it.

If it moves you and you wish to help, make a contribution. Any amount is welcome. We have set a modest target of Rs. 1 lakh which I feel we can easily accomplish together. Even a small contribution from your side can make a large difference.

All funds raised will be given to the Fulora Foundation's 'Global Parli' project - a project that is working towards water harvesting, bore recharge, water storage and management, community farming and other such sustainable solutions in the villages of Parli in Beed, Maharashtra. The foundation aims to create a successful model that can be replicated in other villages of Maharashtra and India.

Over the past few months, the Fulora Foundation has also continuously supplied over 1 Crore litres of water to villages in Beed and Marathwada.

I also request you to please share this video with everyone you know. Once again, your small contribution can make a large difference!!
