About the project :

How many times you see caged dogs in pathetic condition at pet shops and breeders? Don't you feel that this immoral, unethical and Illegal Practice should be stopped, where female dogs are raped and forcefully mated, male dogs are injected with harmful hormones.

We, at SAS India sent legal notices and wrote to many websites including Quikr, Facebook and other social platforms. Some did the needful, some did partially and it fell on deaf ears to some.

Social media plays a key role in illegal selling of these tiny puppies and being transported illegally in trains by Indian Railways and state transport buses pvt transport.  Few of them die during this journey because they are sold at a tender age of 2 weeks also. They are snatched too young from their mothers.

These tiny bundles of life are paying a heavy price, with cruelty and sometimes with death due to human greed for pedigree dogs.

To regularise this, Central Govt. came out with very tough laws, but sadly they are not being implemented.

So we are filing a PIL/WRIT in Mumbai High Court which will force Pvt and Govt. agencies to implement the laws and stop this illegal practice.

Donations are needed to pay the lawyer fee which is 50,000 Rs. I request you to pay as little or as much you can to help us.

I live in the Deccan Gymkhana Law college Road area. Stray dogs have bitten citizens in the past. We need to tackle the stray dog menace in a humanitarian way. Puppy farms should be banned. Dog abuse and abandonment should have strict penalties.
