About the project :

The film centres around how to get over your fears and not to wait for the right moment to step forward and challenge them. The context is bullying in schools and how this can affect children at an impressionbable age, how it can distort their personalities forever. It will help parents understand their kids better and hopefully equip them to address the problem.

The Director Salim Akhtar, with over two decades of experience in the creative field, has been the Chief Assistant Director of “GodMother” and has directed several Video Albums of Jagjit Singh, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shibani Kashyap, Falgun Pathak and so on. He has also successfully directed numerous Corporate Films and Adfilms. His biggest passion is Theatre.

About the Film The story addresses the issue of bullying and abuse in schools with a cheeky touch of humour. The uniquness of the project lies in that cathartic moment in which the child learns to handle his peril in school, how he learns to stand up and face his fears without waiting for the right moment, realizing that every moment is unique and right, as and when you decide to face it. 'Just face it and take charge of it.'
The narrative is from a kid's perspective, because children are honest and transparent in their approach. We need to encourage the kid to speak and help him understand the meaning of bullying. Parents need to be able to discern between quarrels with other school kids and a serious, damaging bullying situation. At the same time, the child needs to face his fears. Salim says, "I want to talk about this subject since I myself went through a simillar situation in school, and one day I stood up against the bully. The day I confronted him, my life changed and that experience is what I want to share with parents and the audience. Since I have worked with children, I am able to understand and help communicate their feelings and sufferings through filmmaking.
The script and team are ready.
Your contribution will help produce this short movie and create awareness about the issue of bullying in schools and your neighborhood; to help children get inspired to identify their fears and to tackle them. I have some of the best crew from the industry and they identify with my project and the emotions behind this film.
Earlier, I had directed a play on autistic children, 'Haha Hehe Hoho!". it dealt with how autism impacts the family and society, and talked about how to relate to such children and treat them with respect. The play featured Raghuveer Yadav and Ravi Jhankar in the lead and Sunidhi Chauhan lend her voice to the songs. The play was much appreciated by the audience and was covered by many newspapers for its original and warm approach to these special children."

Risks and Challenges :

A well planned and researched project has minimal risk. Having professionals on board and tons of experience behind them a project of this magnitude can be handled easily. As we have been in the industry for over 2 decades and have handled various kind of projects, it helps me to understand short comings in advance and to tackle them without any negative influence on the project. The idea can be very well executed without any short comings.
