About the project :

Even after the progression of technology and advent of the forward-thinking march into the 21st century, we as a society lack awareness about the children's issues, including their rights and protections. Millions of children in our country are deprived of their basic education and health needs. Child marriages are still practised in some parts of our societies. Child labour, bonded labour, trafficking of children and child abuse are some of the topics that everyone is aware of but no one wants to confront it.

All these issues are going to affect future generation. We must take the right steps today in order to strengthen our future.

The Jaipur-based Lok Samvad Sansthan, which is a premier media advocacy institution, along with its partners, is organising an all India level PAINTINGS/ PHOTOS/SHORT FILMS COMPETITION, titled “Voices for Children Through Arts” in an attempt to build public awareness and create a moral force in the country to stand by children and protect their rights.

The event will produce rich depository/documents in the form of paintings, photographs and short films on child right issues, which can be a great source of the realising the needs of children. It will also produce evidence-based data for analysis to look at the gaps in the policy framework.

The Lok Samvad Sansthan feels that one of the major causes responsible for children being deprived of their rights is illiteracy. It proliferates gender inequality, unemployment, malnutrition and infant mortality. The of child labour and population growth all are the consequences of illiteracy. Illiteracy is, thus, a curse which hinders the growth of a developing nation such as ours.

Through this competition, we intend to reach out nationwide in association with our various national and international partners and plant a seed of change to bring in more thoughtful deliberations to enhance the current child rights policies.

Under the Child Right Observatory, we will organise events with media, civil societies and elected representatives in order to ensure that this event is run in a sustained manner.

We hereby call upon you to join us in raising funds and associate with this unique concept-oriented sustained campaign on social issues focusing on CHILDREN for awareness and education and help us reach millions of people.

We have started this campaign on May 10, 2017, and will continue till August 15, 2017. A grand finale will be organised on the conclusion of the campaign.

We are honoured to have some esteemed institutions as our partners for this event like,

I want to raise the voices for those children who have no access to education. Their parents do not send them to schools and make them to work. Education is must for the children because it is the only road for their development.

Child rights is a very important topic for everyone to focus. The opportunities a child gets, now, will eventually form the individual they will become in future. Right access to many privileges like education, creates respectable personalities.
